Augusta P was the B-24G that my father was aboard the day he and his fellow crewmembers were shot down.
This illustration was done to honor the surviving crewmembers.

I've had a love affair with airplanes since I was old enough to know what they were.
This affinity has provided me with a unique palette from which to play.

"Rambo," a 4-place Mooney, flew so many hours over water (Bahamas & Caribbean) that the paint scheme and colors were devised to facilitate quick spotting and a prompt rescue, should the need occur. This was a refreshing opportunity to get away from traditional horizontal fuselage lines.
French Stampe SV4C. This aircraft was found neglected in a rural Connecticut hangar and was painstakingly rebuilt to better-than-new condition. The owners learned to fly competitive aerobatics in it and competed successfully in International Aerobatic Club events all over the northeastern and central United States for the better part of a decade.
Dave Kaberry brought his Soviet era white and blue Zlin 50L to the United States from England in the summer of 1997 to compete in the World Aerobatics Championships. Over the winter I was asked to give some thought to upgrading its tired paint scheme. He and his partner wanted me to visually straighten some engineering lines that would in turn make the plane stand out better for the judges to score.
Another SV4C Stampe that has been restored from the ground up. I had experimented with asymmetric graphics before but this was the ideal format. This is a pristine reconstruction.
Falcos are not powered by 9-cylinder Russian Vendenyev radial engines, nor are they tail-draggers. This was a humorous attempt to elevate the heart rate of good friend Alfred Scott, president of Sequoia Aircraft Corporation, who is affectionately known in aviation circles as the "Falco's Renaissance Man."
